I'm really happy with my bspwm/polybar config right now, but damn, I really just need to sit down and learn Lua at some point. People are giving me a huge amount of inspiration with all the custom widgets. Plus it'll come in very handy too, because a handful of games I play have a Lua modding engine. Great job!

OMG that is amazing that top bar. Now that I see more and more AWESOME stuff. I guess its time to change from i3wm to awesome.

I mean you’ve got by far the best setups on this sub, your anonymous post is absolutely incredible and this one to. I was just curious if awesomewm was your first encounter with lua. I’ve tried awesomewm a few times and was never satisfied, finding the errors in the awesomewm config file is a pain in the ass, and bspwm or dwm just seemed more intuitive to me. Did you simply read the awesomewm api/ documentation or do you have background with lua?
